July 21, 2009

Wow, haven't been on here in a long while! So much has been happening in our lives lately! It's summer and we seem to be staying busy, busy, busy. Sidney works, I am at home with Esther and then we scramble around doing about as much as we can when he gets home! We have been blessed to spend much time with our families this summer, and just spent the weekend admiring our new little niece...what a beaut! :) Anyway, it has been good. And not to mention the weather...just perfect for the most part! Definitely unseasonably cool for July, but the AC off is SO nice! And Esther loves being outdoors, so it is definitely feasible considering the weather!

Esther is growing like a weed and growing so much everyday! She is starting to giggle a little and just has the biggest smile. Such a happy baby, she is! We love her! She absolutely LOVES standing, so we bought her an Exersaucer (which I NEVER thought I would do...:P) and she just loves to be able to stand on her own now! My baby is growing up too fast! (Tear). Makes me want bunches more at times, but then again I don't think it is a good idea to get in over my head! :)

I decided to cloth diaper, so that has been fun for me. I am addicted for the most part and love finding awesome deals on dipes. They are fabulous...

And still trying to get weight off, but it is coming off, slowly but surely!

Well, I suppose that is all for now~! I should try to post some pics...although I take so many it gets overwhelming to have to upload onto my computer then upload onto this. blah. I will get to it eventually.

Happy Week!

April 13, 2009

Happy Easter! (Although it was yesterday). Sidney, Esther, and I made a trip home to e see family and friends this weekend. We had a great time- I wish we could have stayed longer! Now we are home and it is back to reality, I guess :P. Just doing LOADS of laundry while Esther is sleeping and trying to catch up on a little bit of housework. It is SO chilly today and I am just ready for warm weather!!!! I'm hoping it will warm up a bit by the end of the week. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

April 6, 2009

Brrr...It's a cold one out there! Didn't think I would have to see snow in April!!! I am very much ready for the spring weather. Hopefully it will warm up soon enough.

Esther is doing fine. I can't believe she is a week old already! I'm sure I will say that every week of life that she adds on. I'm just trying to enjoy every moment with her. We certainly have had an adventure so far. Yesterday was her first time to church and she had to make it memorable with a massive blowout diaper. And today another! I call her my Super Pooper. Trying to adjust has been both difficult and easy, I think. I'm sure I have the same fears all new parents have at one point or another. Other than that, just been trying to relax and take care of myself so I can heal more quickly and am able to go out and do things again by myself! I still need to post pics; sorry, I have been horrible about that!

April Fools! But no jokes, we had the baby! Esther Rose Williams was born last Sat., March 28 at 9:55 am. She was 9 lbs 3 oz., 20 in. long. head full of dark hair, dark eyes...absolutely beautiful. My labor lasted about 7.5 hours and I was at the hospital for about 55 min. before she was born. Completely was definitely worth it and I am so proud of myself! Mom, Dad, and baby are doing well. I will post pics later!

So, I can't edit my picture post for some reason, so I had to add a new post. Anyway, the pics are my 40 Weeks pics! And then one of Sidney, me, and the belly! Sidney has a hard time keeping his eyes open for pics! Oh well... Now for the baby to come...only God knows when! (But hopefully very soon!)

Happy First Day of Spring!

So today is officially the first day of spring and I am sooooo happy! I am very much ready for spring weather and the grass and trees growing and the flowers growing and breezy warm days and sunny skies with the occasional rain shower.....ah, to wear flip flops again!

I know it may take a bit for the weather to completely change from winter feeling to completely spring, but it's creeping along.

Still the same on Baby W. Nothing new to report. She's just happy being all cozy inside and, to my thinking, may just continue to enjoy it for a few more days...

Outside posing for Sidney. And the big hole/trench he dug.

I really am amazed that she can just keep growing and growing like this. I really am curious as to just how big she will be when she's born!! Taken at week 39.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day all! Although I'm not doing anything exciting, I still am happy about the holiday! It is awfully beautiful outside, though...I may go take a walk. Today is week 39, so I'm getting closer! Nothing new to report, really. I will be posting pics sometime this week. Well, that's all for now...

Happy St. Patty's!

Beautiful Poem about mother and children that my mom used to read to me when I was younger and hope to read to my little children someday:

Mother's Path

The young mother set her foot on the path of life.

"Is this the long way?" she asked. And the guide
said: "Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be
old before you reach the end of it. But the end
will be better than the beginning."

But the young mother was happy, and she would
not believe that anything could be better than
these years. So she played with her children, and
gathered flowers for them along the way, and
bathed them in the clear streams; and the sun
shone on them, and the young Mother cried,
"Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."

Then the night came, and the storm, and the path
was dark, and the children shook with fear and
cold, and the mother drew them close and covered
them with her mantle, and the children said,
"Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and
no harm can come."

And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead,
and the children climbed and grew weary, and the
mother was weary. But at all times she said to the
children, "A little patience and we are there."
So the children climbed, and when they reached
the top they said, "Mother, we would not have
done it without you." And the mother, when she
lay down at night looked up at the stars and said,
"This is a better day than the last, for my children
have learned fortitude in the face of hardness.
Yesterday I gave them courage. Today, I have
given them strength."

And the next day came strange clouds which
darkened the earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped and stumbled, and
the mother said: "Look up. Lift your eyes to the
light." And the children looked and saw above
the clouds an everlasting glory, and it guided them
beyond the darkness. And that night the Mother
said, "This is the best day of all, for I have shown
my children God."

And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and the years, and the mother grew old
and she was little and bent. But her children were
tall and strong, and walked with courage.
And when the way was rough, they lifted her, for
she was as light as a feather; and at last they came
to a hill, and beyond they could see a shining road
and golden gates flung wide. And mother said:
"I have reached the end of my journey. And now I
know the end is better than the beginning, for my
children can walk alone, and their children after

And the children said, "You will always walk with
us, Mother, even when you have gone through the
gates." And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates closed after her.
And they said: "We cannot see her, but she is with
us still. A Mother like ours is more than a memory.
She is a living presence."

Well, tomorrow is week 39! One week closer, I suppose! Had an appt. with my midwife today. Things are about the same, but I'm content with that, I suppose. I know Baby will come when she's ready.

I'm thinking today I am going to spend some time outside. The weather has been beautiful these past couple of days! Sidney has been doing outside work this weekend and I have been sitting and watching...hehe.

Not much else going on. Tomorrow is St. Patty's, which I am excited about. But we have no plans. I will be posting more later this week, along with more belly pictures! Keep watching!

Au revoir

Holy Cow! This baby can't be any less than 9 lbs! If she is, I will be very surprised. VERY.

March 10, 2009

Well, today is week 38 (39) for me already! I can hardly believe it! I was looking back at pics from even less than a month ago and I can't believe just how much I have grown, even since then!!! I'm beginning to wonder if this child is going to weigh close to 9 lbs.! Oh goodness, I hope not!

I will be posting new pics sometime this week, so keep watching for them!

Today is our last birthing class...I can't get over how quickly these past 10 weeks have flown by. I'm really going to miss it. The other couples in the class are really nice and it's nice to switch it up each week and see other people. But I suppose I am glad we are finishing, I will feel a little more confident that now Baby W can come. As for our child, at this point I have no idea when she'll show. My body is getting prepped, to my way of thinking. Been having irregular, small contractions, nothing major, though. And my back has been achy and I feel like I weigh soooo much. But all of this only started happening last Monday, so who knows? I know, obviously, it is getting closer, but just how close, I'm not so sure!

Mon. March 9, 2009

Well, due to my lack of tiredness at the moment, I thought I would post.

This weekend was absolutely wonderful. Friday was an absolutely beautiful day...I got out into the fresh warm air and took a nice short (and I mean short!) walk. Then I just did little things around home and went to my friend's house to go with her and her two boys to the park. The littlest one, he's a month old, I got to hold. Oh he was sooooo snuggly and I LOVED it! Makes me all the more excited, I think. That evening Sid and I ran some errands and just hung out together.

Saturday we had a makeup class for our birthing class. It was nice to mix up the schedule and have it on a Sat. Tuesday is our last class and I can hardly believe we have been at it for almost 10 whole weeks now. After our class, we came home, packed up, and Sidney and I took a little "get-away" to a nearby hotel. It was nice to just be together and spend time with each other without interruptions from things needing to be done around the house. Just enjoying each other's presence. We made sure to find a place that had a pool. They had a hot tub, but we were told it was not working when we first reserved our room earlier in the week. But it was nice to discover it was. It actually was not very hot at all....lukewarm, so I we were in that most of the time because the pool was so chilly. It felt sooooo good to be in water. All the pressure on my hips were gone and I just felt so relaxed, it was wonderful. Two hours of that was what I needed! I wish I could do it more often! After the pool/hot tub, I was hungry, so we went over to the Denny's next door and had a bite, it was pretty quiet in there, so it was nice and calm. After that we went to get diesel for the car and then went back to our room and watched the rest of a movie on the TV. Sleeping was wonderful...we got a king size bed and I forgot just how big those are! I want one, although I have no idea where we would put one, our room is too small, and I don't even know how we would get it into the house, for that matter! Anyway, there was so much room and it had been such a long day, it was great.

Sunday we got up, got ready, and went downtown to the Moody Church on N. LaSalle. Absolutely breathtaking and wonderful. The santuary auditorium seats 3800 people and the church is inspired with byzantique and romanesque architecture. The organ has 4400 pipes and the acoustics are perfect. And we were told by an usher that we picked the right Sunday to come because we had both the choir AND the orchestra today! The orchestra only is there twice a month. It was mignificent, truly. And we heard Dr. Erwin Lutzer preach, he has been the senior pastor at Moody for 29 years now. It was so funny because I hear him all the time on Christian Radio (where we live, we have the Moody Station). So it was great that we got to see him preach in person, not just what I had imagined in my head every weekday morning/ afternoon from his voice! After service, we met Pastor Lutzer for a brief moment and then went on a tour of the church, more so just a history background of D.L. Moody and the church itself. It truly was one of the best services I have been to. I suppose the excitement of finally going, plus just being there in the presence of God with all the rest of those believers, not to mention the thousands of people listening in on the internet and was just amazing. After church we came home and watched the race together and I napped for a long while (perfect weather to nap, rainy, chilly).

Well, I guess that pretty much sums up the weekend! It was perfect and what more could I ask for? What is a better way to spend your weekend than in the presence of your spouse, just relaxing and enjoying each other's company, and finishing it off by spending time in the presence your Lord? Nothing beats it for me...

Week 37 (38). Pretty big right now!

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

March 3, 2009

Wow! I can hardly believe it is March already! How time flies!

Sorry I have not posted in a while. Been pretty busy writing "thank yous" and getting things kind of organized around home. I will try and post belly pics soon, seeing as today is week 37 (38) for me! It's getting close! Sid and I are anticipating the arrival of Baby W, but at the same time are just enjoying our time together.

In other thoughts, I can't help but think of the passing of Paul Harvey. I loved listening to his distinctive voice every afternoon. He was a great man and will be greatly missed. He came up with a great word that I have decided fits me perfectly, "infanticipating". Hits right on the spot. No one can ever replace that man...

Don't forget, this weekend we "spring forward" in DST! Don't forget to change clocks and checks fire alarms!!!!

That's it for now!~ Au revoir!

Visiting cousins. Feb. 21, 2008

Totally looks like a Williams here.

Showing me something with his fingers.

Sidney playing with Number 1.

Here we go!

Doesn't look thrilled as all.

Getting the two of them together.

Playing around...

So I thought I would post a few pics of Sidney and my cousin's children. They are so cute and I really think the baby looks like Charlie Brown, don't you???
